Safety on Thundr Chat
Random video chat is strangers, by design. These are the controls you have — in the chat and on the other person’s profile — and the habits that do the rest.
The controls you have
Ends the current chat and moves you on. No explanation owed, no way for the other person to follow you.
Hangs up on the spot when you would rather stop than meet the next person.
The mic button on the call screen cuts your own microphone — useful when the room gets loud or someone walks in.
On the other person’s profile. Makes sure you are not matched with that person again.
Also on their profile — it opens a form where you pick a reason and write what happened.
Two more things are structural: Thundr Chat is 18+ only, and your camera never turns on without your permission.
Habits that matter more than any feature
- Keep your details yours. First names are plenty. Address, workplace, socials, payment apps — none of it belongs in a chat with a stranger, no matter how good the conversation feels.
- Assume screens can be recorded. Recording others is against our rules, but no site can make it technically impossible — so do not show anything you would not want saved.
- Money talk is an exit sign. Anyone who asks you to send money, move to another app to "verify", or invest in anything is running a script. Skip and report.
- Trust the mismatch feeling. If something feels off — age, behaviour, pressure — leave. You never owe a stranger your time.
If something happens
Report the account from their profile, then — if you want a human to look at it — email [email protected] with roughly when it happened. If anyone in a chat appears to be under 18, report it immediately; those reports are reviewed first.
